Use the Capture Power O-Power before starting the battle.The Frozen condition will increase the capture rate as much as sleep, but it's not easy to inflict on an enemy. The status moves that cause sleep are relatively easy to come back, and will increase the capture rate the most. The best Status Condition for this job is Sleep. Inflicting Status Conditions will increase the odds of capturing a Pokemon.These will leave the Pokemon with just 1 HP instead of knocking them out. Use the attacks Hold Back or False Swipe.There are a few other methods that will help with capturing Legendary Pokemon: The two toughest Pokemon, Rayquaza and Deoxys, will be at Level 70 and 80! Increase your Pokemons' levels before attempting to capture them. Make sure your Pokemon are around Level 50 before setting out.
Legendary Pokemon are incredibly tough, and some are at really high levels. Once you have the right equipment, you'll need the right Pokemon. Timer Balls can be purchased from Rustboro City after speaking with the Devon Researcher on Route 116 after clearing Rusturf Tunnel. Another great ball is the Timer Ball, which has a 4x capture rate if more than 30 turns have passed during the battle. Dusk Balls can be purchased in Fallarbor Town, and have a 3.5x capture rate when used at night or in caves. If the Legendary Pokemon is encountered at night time or inside a cave, use Dusk Balls instead. Ultra Balls have 2x the capture rate of a regular Poke Ball, but if you only use Ultra Balls against Legends, there's a good chance you'll use 40 before finally snagging the beasts. You will need a number of special Poke Balls, and tough Pokemon that can withstand long battles with strong Legendary Pokemon.īefore chasing after Legends, you'll need to stock up on some Poke Balls. Luckily, there are a few methods that can make things a bit easier. Legendary Pokemon can be incredibly hard to capture compared to other Pokemon. Only one can be discovered a day in your game, but more can be sent to your game through StreetPass or Passerbys on the Player Search System. Mirage Spots are random areas around Hoenn that can be discovered while soaring on Latios or Latias. A few legendary Pokemon can be found and captured throughout the story, some require a fair amount of searching, and others must be discovered through Mirage Spots.
